Limelight : Ian Weiss, singer/songwriter
Described as a bright, young, talented singer-song writer that takes after the Dave Matthews/John Mayer sound, Ian Weiss is already playing dates in clubs and festivals early in his career.
"I've always had a love for music. I started playing when I was about 6 years old taking piano lessons. Then I took up the trumpet when I was about 9. I played jazz, clasical, and contemporary stuff. I had always felt like a natural musician, but I didn't feel like a natural piano or trumpet player. It wasn't until I started playing guitar, which was when I was about 13, that something clicked and I felt confident and comfortable playing."
Looking to get his own sound, Ian "started writing my own songs about two years ago. I have about 20 now, half of which I wrote during the summer of 2005." You'll get a chance to hear a few of these on the 16th!
Ian will be performing on the main stage at 1:00 PM ¶ 2:28 PM
