  Spotlight: Historical Society of Newburgh
Founded in 1884, the Historical Society of Newburgh Bay and the Highlands, is one of the nations's oldest historical societies. It's mission includes "to organize community events, fund raisers, and to help people in the region realize the benefits of it's rich historic and architectural heritage through exhibits, programs, tours and community outreach efforts".

Known throughout the Hudson Valley for the annual "Candlelight House Tour", the Historical Society has a well established reputation for celebrating the history and architecture of the Newburgh area. It also supports the arts through exhibits of regional artists and holds concerts with performances by local musicians.

At their table will many items for sale, such as books and art prints, that feature local history and points of interest along the Hudson River. You may also take them up on the offer to become a member, or enter to win a prize.
