Having a love for landscape painting rooted in her passion for gardening, and illustration that is inspired by her love of children's art, Kate, who majored in Painting at Massachusetts College of Art, brings a unique range of artistic expression.
"My oil paintings reflect my love for the outdoors. I am a landscape artist, yet not in the traditional sense. I enjoy nightscapes and how the shadows become the focus."
"My children's paintings, on stepstools, tee shirts and quilts, are derived from old stories and poems from yesteryear. I enjoy doing watercolors for these as they are quick and capture the innocence of children. The paintings are more stylized and are reminiscent of artwork from the early 1900's. The poetry of Edward Lear and verses from my mothers childhood poetry books give me ideas for these drawings." ¶ 1:05 AM
